I see the same problem (worked fine in Intrepid) with empathy. I can add
that my google account is working fine but my professional account show
this behavior.

The server of my problematic account is an OpenFire. We use TLS/SSL. I'm
the only user in my company using empathy and I'm the only one concerned
by this problem.
