That is odd. I gave up on Ubuntu and switched to Debian Lenny. It
eliminated this problem and a number of others. I have Lenny and Etch on
several computers using WDM and have only one small problem. Later
releases of WDM don't seem to want to work with less than 24bit color.
I've been using WDM for 6 or seven years now so have had much experience
with it on several different distributions.
