Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.10
Grub2 / grub-pc

I've just installed Karmic Koala and updated everything offered in the
partial upgrade. One upgrade was to grub2 (or it is grub-pc?). This
upgrade asked me which drives I wanted to make bootable, I selected
nothing as I don't like GRUB messing up my different systems kernels and
prefer to leave booting to GAG and per install kernel management to
GRUB. So... once I rebooted and selected the Karmic partition grub went
fine until it spat out

error: Unknown argument '--no-floppy'

so I went back and pressed 'e' to edit the entry but there were no
argument other than the one setting the root/base partition (sorry I
don't remember what it's called.

So Karmic is now unbootable for now.
