Public bug reported:

in 9.04 on a 64 bit installation trying to load the current development OGRE w/ CMake I got:
...
[ 46%] Building CXX object OgreMain/CMakeFiles/OgreMain.dir/src/OgreSearchOps.cpp.o
Linking CXX shared library ../lib/libOgreMain.so
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.3.3/../../../../lib/libboost_thread-mt.a(thread.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.3.3/../../../../lib/libboost_thread-mt.a: could not read symbols: Bad value

and bombed.

Synaptic shows I have libboost-thread1.35.0, libboost-thread1.37.0, and libboost-thread1.37-dev
but not libboost-thread1.35-dev loaded. version of libboost-thread1.37.0 is 1.37.0-3ubuntu3

I presume the thread sourcefile in libboost_thread-mt is the one that
needs to be recompiled.

** Affects: boost1.37 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
