I would not call this purely a wishlist as it makes many dialogues
including many from the installer unusable at lower screen resolutions.
If you try using Ubuntu at 1024x600 or lower (it is apparent on the
eeepc 1000h which has the largest screens of the netbook category of
devices), many high profile programs and other windows are not usable
without changing this setting - a situation which is not acceptable and
should be considered as a bug as it directly impedes people from using
the software in a standard and necessary manor. Such a key UI/behaviour
bug which prevents the use of software on an increasing popular range of
devices is just as important as a more obvious bug, especially when it
only needs the change of one gconf key to fix it and make sure that
compiz does this as well as metacity (where this behaviour has already
been used as long as I can remember, so it is very unlikely it would
break anything) in managing this.
