I'm having a simular problem, but in my case it  prevents me from using the mouse in the virtual machine at all!
(until I have the GuestAddions installed)

pressed "capture" does not capture the mouse, and checking the "don't
show this message again" box doesn't change anything. Also as soon as I
click the VirtualBox window, the message appears again...

After installing the GuestAdditions, the problem is (of course) nolonger
an issue
