Public bug reported:

- The viewport (the image canvas) is blank after starting cheese in both
image and video modes, with filters or without. This persists during all
the sessions. The video device (webcam) is being enabled by the program
(led) and it is working with other software (motion). Startup output:

$ cheese -v

(cheese:7486): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad source:src returned caps which
are not a real subset of its template caps

(cheese:7486): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad source:src returned caps which
are not a real subset of its template caps

(cheese:7486): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad video_source:src returned caps which are not a real subset of its template caps
libv4l2: error converting / decoding frame data: v4l-convert: error destination buffer too small

- Unable to perform image capture. No image is written in the directory.
Sometimes the record button for video is disabled. It becomes enabled
after changing the resolution in 'Preferences'. Output:

(cheese:7486): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad video_source:src returned caps which are not a real subset of its template caps
libv4l2: error converting / decoding frame data: v4l-convert: error destination buffer too small

- Crash in few over one second after video record button is pressed.
Recorded videos are empty (zero bytes). Output:

(cheese:7486): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_caps_get_structure: assertion `GST_IS_CAPS (caps)' failed
Segmentation fault

It seems that all the problems have the same cause, so I submit them in a single report. I had no problems with it on Ubuntu 8.04.
