  Activating the blur on system bell causes the blur to make what seems
  like compiz losing acceleration. Everything gets painfully slow.
  
  To reproduce this on my system I just activate blur on system bell.
  Start up the gnome-terminal and perform a tab-completion. Et voila!
  
  My system is a dell xps m1210 with an intel m945.
