Following the above procedure I am able to replicate this issue.

I have tested this on a field of type <medium blob> do we know if it
affects ALL blob Types??

I have also tested again a field of type <text> for sanity, and the edit
procedure works as expected.

Details for my instal as of today (22nd Feb 2009)

Your MySQL Server version: 5.0.67-0ubuntu6 (Ubuntu)
MySQL Query browser version 1.2.12

Ubuntu Intrepid.
