We don't know if these messages are important if we don't know why they
are being generated.  It could be that they indicate something more
seriously wrong that I haven't stumbled upon yet.  That could be pretty
bad since this particular application is handling financial data.

Let's say the messages are harmless.  This problem still should be fixed
because it helps to resolve Bug #1.  This sort of obvious sloppiness
makes it harder to persuade people to switch to Ubuntu.  GnuCash is a
core application and (presumably) it gets widely used.  It should make
Ubuntu look professional, not sloppy.

This is the sort of problem that would not get past a commercial QA
department; that is, even if it doesn't have functional implications, it
does hurt image of the application, something commercial organizations
are very good at protecting.
