[Bug 332549] [NEW] compiz freezes X when some applications are used

Public bug reported:

On jaunty, compiz 0.7.9 with latest nvidia drivers from repos freezes when some apps are used.
I can't start rhythmbox for example: after a couple of seconds the application windows is created the desktop became unresponsive, the only thing that still works is mouse pointer movement. 
I can't even switch to tty, because keyboard stops working.
Some minor problems are related to rendering of icons in tray, please have a look to the attached picture, that should be amsn tray icon: colors are completely wrong.
