Fair enough to drop gutsy.

The error received when trying to start varnish is the following:
Starting HTTPd accelerator: /usr/bin/ld: crti.o: No such file: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
pclose=256
Internal error: GCC returned 0x0100

The file crti.o is in the libc6-dev package.

Varnish compiles its configuration and then dynamically links to it,
which is why it is needed.
