Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: powerdevil
Kubuntu Jaunty Alpha 4 (32 and 64 bit)
Sony VAIO VGN-FZ31M and Sony VAIO GR-315MP
Packag version 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu4 (assuming Powerdevil is part of kdebase-
workspace-bin)
Powerdevil is basically non-functional on both these systems. When I
remove the power adapter it pops up a notification saying so. I would
expect it change between 'Performance' and 'Powersave' profiles. On one
system it claims to change to the 'Powersave' profile, but none of the
screen brightness or DPMS settings are applied. On the other system it
doesn't even change profiles.
Changing profiles manually using the battery monitor plasma applet also
has no effect apart from freezing the entire system for several seconds.
One a couple of occasions, the battery monitor applet has complained
that it can't connect to DBus. I think something is crashing but I'm not
sure what.
** Affects: powerdevil (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
