I am also interested in ProFTPd with --enable-nls.

Currently I am trying to comple it from sources and make it as much
"debian-style" as possible, but it seems I need to override a lot of
options (bin/config directories etc.) I am quite new to Linux and it is
hard to me.

Could someone point me to document/script which ubuntu team uses for
proftpd compilation?
