Yes.

Modifying kpackagekit at this point to add in 'all' the missing
functionality of software-properties-kde was too much to take on. It was
definitely more prudent at this point to provide a way for users to
launch the existing sources editor, and leave package add/remove to
kpackagekit.

The kdesu could be avoided, but would need to use policykit and if
someone would like to take a stab at that, it would greatly be
appreciated (I am not that familiar with policykit or what would need to
happen here to make that work).
