Same here:
Ubuntu 8.10
Snort 2.7.0-19ubuntu1
libc6 & libc6-i686 2.8~20080505-0ubuntu8
Linux 2.6.27-11-generic

I was using a combination of Ubuntu common rules and Emerging Threat
rules, then limited the setup to very few ET rules only (mayb 10) and
tried using only a subset of the official VRT rules as well. Snort
crashes in any configuration I tried.

Syslog messages:
segfault at 179 ip b7b7729b sp bf81d63c error 4 in libc-2.8.90.so[b7b00000+158000]
segfault at 8 ip 0809a875 sp bf90b268 error 4 in snort[8048000+8e000]

I can provide more detailed information on request.
