Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: amule
Hi, these are my changes in aMule package for Ubuntu.
I hope that everything is in order. I attached a diff ready to apply to
the previous package and upload it to the repositories.
amule (2.2.3-1ubuntu1) jaunty; urgency=low
* debian/patches
+ make_totem_default.diff (LP: #89672)
Make totem default video player for previews instead of mplayer,
because Ubuntu has got totem installed by default and no mplayer.
* debian/control
+ Put Ubuntu MOTU Developers as Maintainer and Adeodato Simó as
XSBC-Original-Maintainer.
+ Remove '##' of Build-Depends for avoid problems with pbuilder.
* debian/rules
+ Added '--enable-optimize' to compile aMule with optimizations.

* I am not a fan of totem media player, but I think that the best way to
fix LP: #89672 bug is that aMule call a media player that is included by
default in Ubuntu (totem) that one is not installed (mplayer).
* Although the '##' characters in Build-Depends do not affect the build
of aMule package. If a user wants to recompile aMule using the source
and diff.gz of Ubuntu will have that problem if he use pbuilder tool.
pbuilder show:
"`Depends' field, invalid package name `##': must start with an
alphanumeric"
Then problem is that pbuilder consider ## as a dependency.
* While disabling the debugging information ( --disable-debug ) is
believed to enable the optimizations, I think that is no true.
If you run configure with only the --disable-debug you'll see that
the information shown
" Should aMule be compiled in debug mode? no
Should aMule be compiled with profiling? no
Should aMule be compiled with optimizations? no
Should aMule be compiled with UPnP support? yes"
** Affects: amule (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Confirmed
