Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose
i've installed XP Professional as a guest OS in VirtualBox on Ubuntu 9.1
and I've gone through the Windows Update process four times to get SP2,
SP3, and a list of 61 additional updates. Each update required a restart
of XP within VirtualBox in order for the updates to take effect. In each
case, this worked fine. I created a snapshot after each update. I
completed a 5th Windows Update, but after the restart, XP took longer to
come up, and it isn't working properly. I can start aps like a console
(cmd.exe), but I have no network connectivity and I can't start a
Browser. I can revert to a previously working snapshot and it works
fine. However, any attempt to reboot, even without an update, from that
session yields the same result. This will prevent me from completing
additional Windows Updates or even from shutting down XP normally to
save state.
