A further update by me is that if the *.kdb.lock file is missing on startup (and there is not the question popping up about openenind an accessed file) KeePassX crashes after the password promt.
If I start it again with the now existing .kdb.lock file it works fine.

PS: I am on Kernel version 2.6.32-020632-generic
