I've had a lot of people sending me thank you mail in regards to my
tutorial to fix this...

And a lot of which have been Lexmark printers. Going forward, I would
like to see this package re-instated into the repositories at least for
legacy hardware support. That said, has there been a reason given for
its removal in the first place?
