[Bug 500165] Re: msttcorefonts repeated fails during installation

Yes.  This does sound like the problem.  I reran the ubuntustudio
install from DVD last night on another machine and had the same
problem.  I would repeatedly say a step failed and upon retry it also
trys to run the msttcorefonts install again.  After a few times it
will finally give up and go on and finish.  Unfortunately, I did not
grab the log file before I finally blew it away and installed
something else.  I've never run in to this with the installer for the
standard Ubuntu install, only the when trying the Ubuntu Studio spin.
