[Bug 490872] Re: Okular doesn't display any instances of letter 'u'

I'm using Gentoo, and see the same problem when using Okular to read
mixed language PDFs originating from Firefox.  Most of the "u"
characters do not display.  I wanted to add that I'm seeing very similar
results with some non-KDE applications, which may have a bearing on
troubleshooting.  Both flpsed and pdfedit fail to display the same
particular "u" characters that do not appear in Okular.
