This bug is probably spurious. The mechanism to maximize a client window
is to use Alt+F11.

The middle symbol of the three pictograms in the titlebar of each client window, does not signify
maximization, but depth change for rendering the display, i.e., the 'z-order toggle' of the active
window.

This bug report can with all probability be closed and archived.
