Desktop freezes:
1. That means the applications become grayed and i am unable to work. Typically, firefox, eclipse, pidgin. Except the minimisation menu nothing works. Not even able to open a terminal at this time to kill the non responding application.
2. How do I manage: just wait for an unknown amount of time.
3. Sometimes I get back to console (control alt Fn) and logs in and types "kill -1 -9" and relogins
