Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gconf
On my system, whenever I use SSHFS to transfer files to a slow
connection, "gconf-helper" turns into a Zombie with the following
results:
- Starting Firefox complains:
Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that
you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS
locks due to a system crash. See http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ for
information. (Details - 1: Server ping error:
IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0)
- Gnome terminal doesn't start
- Gnome editor starts with default settings
- I need to reboot, logout/login or kill "gconfd-2" (which still causes
problems, because applications don't see other instances of themselves
running)
