WeatherGod,

I ran the command you requested (aptitude search ~i~Oopenshot) I got no
output at the terminal.  At this point I have removed the errant
packages, disabled the OpenShot PPA and reinstalled the packages.  This
seems to have fixed my issue.

If you would like I can add the Openshot repo again and update the
packages for debugging purposes.
