Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dmraid

I'm not sure whether to file this as a kernel bug or dmraid bug.

I have a raid 1 setup that was created using mdadm on arch linux. /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc each have three partitions, which are combined into three separate raid 1 disks. I installed ubuntu 9.10 onto /dev/md1 (which is composed of /dev/sdb2 and /dev/sdc2). The install went fine, but after rebooting, the raid disk was listed as 'degraded' (only one of the two drives was found).
There were no device files present for any of the partitions on sdb or sdc (however, /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc did exist).

After adding 'nodmraid' to the kernel boot options, the partition
devices were once again present and the raid disks could be assembled
correctly.
