Further to the above: if you examine the .ttf files using Font Viewer,
the font name for LinLibertine_Bd.ttf is given as 'Linux Libertine,
Bold' whereas the others are named 'Linux Libertine O', whether it's
'Linux Libertine O, Regular', 'Linux Libertine O, Bold Italic' or
whatever.

In the latest download of the fonts available from SourceForge all the
fonts are simply named 'Linux Libertine' (no O) so presumably some
changes have been made in the Ubuntu/Debian packaging process that were
not completed properly.
