Before and after changing the brightness:

        BACKLIGHT_CONTROL:      native
        supported: native       legacy       combination  kernel
        BACKLIGHT: 296 (0x00000128)     range:  (0,296)

        BACKLIGHT_CONTROL:      native
        supported: native       legacy       combination  kernel
        BACKLIGHT: 272 (0x00000110)     range:  (0,296)

All the files called brightness contain <not supported>.

This bug has the particularly annoying side-effect of turning the
brightness all the way down leaving the computer unusable without a
reboot.
