You shouldn't have mythtv-database installed on a frontend only machine.
It's intended for backends.  I'd recommend removing it.  Unexpected
behaviors (as above) will happen otherwise.

I'm going to close this bug as Won't Fix for that reason.
If you've got a patch to fix up your behaviors, I'd be glad to add it in.  Please re-open the bug and set it as New if so.
