[Bug 413829] [NEW] Earcandy 0.5 starts and then stops/disappears from systray

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: earcandy

Running Ubuntu 9.04 64bit.
Installing and running earcandy/ear_candy 0.5 from either .deb binary or PPA repository.

In addition to the problem noted in bug # 399346 (earcandy executable
incorrectly named),  after providing the correct name "ear_candy" to
start the application, the application starts but does not remain active
in the system tray for very long. For no apparent reason, it kills its
own process after a very short time and no longer shows up in the System
Tray or in System Monitor as a process. When it dies, it also seems to
effect Totem's ability to play the sound portion of podcasts.
