I think that the packages should satisfy the qlogind/rshd dependencies,
but that they should be met by ssh, e.g. in 'qconf -mconf'

login_command               /usr/lib/gridengine/qlogin_wrapper
qlogin_daemon                /usr/sbin/sshd -i
rlogin_command               /usr/bin/ssh
rlogin_daemon                /usr/sbin/sshd -i
rsh_command                  /usr/bin/ssh
rsh_daemon                   /usr/sbin/sshd -i

where qlogin_wrapper is something like:

  #!/bin/sh
  /usr/bin/ssh -p $2 $1

This works for me with gridengine packages built on Hardy.
