[Bug 410813] [NEW] Cannot draw in xournal 0.4.2.1-1ubuntu1

Binary package hint: xournal

In Xournal 0.4.2.1-1ubuntu1 in Karmic Koala (as of Aug 8 2009): none of
the drawing tools works, making the whole application unusable.

To reproduce:

1. Start Xournal

2. Try to draw with the "pen" tool, or input text with the text tool.

3. Note that neither produces any output: pen does not draw anything,
and no text can be entered.

Expected result: Pen should draw a line, and one should be able to enter
text.
