Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: dibbler-client
While upgrading my network to ipv6 I've installed the dibbler dhcpv6
client on several machines, mostly running hardy heron. During
installation I noticed the same misbehavior on all of the machines:
- Installation hangs with "Generating /etc/dibbler/client.conf-dpkg-new...", there is no more output, but after pressing "Enter" dpkg continues
- dpkg offers me checkboxes to select if I want to receive dns-server and/or domain information with dhcpv6. Although I select both of them, the generated config file only has domain enabled:
# Defaults for dibbler-client.
# installed at /etc/dibbler/client.conf by the maintainer scripts
# 8 (Debug) is most verbose. 7 (Info) is usually the best option
log-level 7
# To perform stateless (i.e. options only) configuration, uncomment
# this line below and remove any "ia" keywords from interface definitions
# stateless
iface eth0 {
# ask for address
ia
# ask for options
# option dns-server
# option domain
# option dns-server
option domain
# option ntp-server
# option time-zone
# option sip-server
# option sip-domain
# option nis-server
# option nis-domain
# option nis+-server
# option nis+-domain
It's also quite strange that those options appear twice there, so I
assume the dpkg script in this package is somewhat buggy?
** Affects: dibbler (Ubuntu)
