On reflection, other userspace daemon-like programs (workrave and twitux
and pidgin are good examples) all minimize on alt-F4 instead of exiting
the daemon (there's options to quit as well, but the standard close
leaves it running in the tray).

I vote for Mattias' patch here, which I believe has the right behavior.
