** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd

Using xorg-video-radeonhd 1.2.4-2, (Driver "radeonhd" in minimal
xorg.conf) on Ubunty 9.04 Jaunty (beta)

Expected: Proper startup, 1366x786 at 60Hz, 2d/3d accelleration, etc.

  Instead: Driver reports error messages
(EE) RADEONHD(0): rhdAtomLvdsDDC: unknown record type: 80
(EE) RADEONHD(0): D1CRTCDisable: Failed to Unsync CRTC 1
(EE) RADEONHD(0): D2CRTCDisable: Failed to Unsync CRTC 2
and gives options to continue in low graphics mode, troubleshoot, etc.

  Further info
Using Driver "ati" (xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.12.1-0ubuntu1) in xorg.conf gives unresponsive black screen after ubuntu splash screen. No response to Ctrl-Alt-Bksp, Ctrl-Alt-F1. Alt-Prtsc-R,S,E,I,N,U,B does work.
Booting Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid LiveCD requires "safe graphics mode", otherwise unresponsive black screen as above.
