** Description changed:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu.
Description: Ubuntu 9.04 (Release Candidate upgraded from Ubuntu 8.10)
Release: 9.04
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.
xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9
3) What you expected to happen
After attached the S-Video cable to my laptop, configured the position of the 2 properly detected monitors in gnome-display-properties, updated automatically the xorg.conf with the respective virtual resolution and , finally, logout and login, I expected to have an expanded dual monitor desktop with my laptop and TV (to see fancy films with my laptop in the TV :P).
4) What happened instead
First,
I did every thing what I described in point 3, and all I got was a white screen in the TV and in the laptop. If I made alt-tab I also got some little icons, but every thing around was white.
Secondly,
I manually edited xorg.conf, erased the virtualscreen resolution and booted again without the TV attached. I disabled all the desktop effects and tried every thing again, and, more or less, it worked. The bigest problem is that I can't open any film with this configuration, any video application crash silently when trying to play a film.
