It was definitely installed since I remember compiz working a long while
ago. I haven't been using it for the past year or even more due to this
issue. I suspect the package was removed during some upgrade/update in
Hardy or Intrepid, and I never noticed it. It might be a little too late
to predict exactly when this happened. If there are logs which would
indicate it, I would be happy to provide those.
