There is no "vanilla" or "debianized" versions as such. python3-defaults
is just a bunch of meta-packages that depend on the default version of
Python (python3 in this case). The packaging of Python is such that
there can be multiple versions of python in the repository, which can be
installed side-by-side. The python3-defaults meta-packages ensure that
if a newer version of python is added to the repository and made the
default, users will automatically be upgraded to the later version, by
tweaking the dependencies of these metapackages.
