Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse

The hal-probe-vmmouse callout used to detect if you have a VMWare
pointing device uses the "vmmouse_detect" command, which is in package
mdetect. For one reason or another it is not a dependency and not part
of Jaunty's base install, hence vmmouse does not work out of the box.

Installing the mdetect package makes the VMWare mouse integration work out of the box again.

Thus, mdetect needs to be added as a dependency for xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse (Ubuntu)

         Status: New

** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse (Ubuntu Jaunty)
