Thanks for the steer Noel. I wasn't aware that the official repo issue
was duff. This is what I have been running on:
bob at bob-desktop:~$ dpkg --list | grep nvidia
ii nvidia-173-modaliases 173.14.16-0ubuntu1 Modaliases for the NVIDIA binary X.Org drive
rc nvidia-180-libvdpau 180.37-0ubuntu2 Video Decode and Presentation API for Unix
ii nvidia-180-modaliases 180.37-0ubuntu2 Modaliases for the NVIDIA binary X.Org drive
ii nvidia-71-modaliases 71.86.08-0ubuntu1 Modaliases for the NVIDIA binary X.Org drive
ii nvidia-96-modaliases 96.43.10-0ubuntu1 Modaliases for the NVIDIA binary X.Org drive
ii nvidia-common 0.2.9 Find obsolete NVIDIA drivers
rc nvidia-glx-177 177.82-0ubuntu0.1 NVIDIA binary Xorg driver
rc nvidia-glx-180 180.37-0ubuntu2 NVIDIA binary Xorg driver
rc nvidia-settings 180.25-0ubuntu1 Tool of configuring the NVIDIA graphics driv
What do I need to do to load up the 180.44 version please? I have
downloaded a package called NVIDIA-Linux-x86-180.44-pkg1.run but I'm not
too sure where to go from there. I'm running Ubuntu Jaunty. I'll then
try again and report back. Bob
