I am actually using an external linksys usb adapter now, because of another bug.
But, this isn't related to hardware anyway.

Attaching backtrace and strace. The backtrace shows that the applet
looks for data in /sys/class/net/wlan0/statistics/*, but since my card
is on wlan1, that directory does not exist.
