Thanks for the reply. I'm not using Ubuntu anymore, so I'm not sure if
it's still an isue.

Since it's been a very long time since any additional info was added to

Bug description:

In cpan shell, installation gets stuck in a loop with:

Deep recursion on subroutine "Compress::Zlib::AUTOLOAD" at
/usr/lib/perl/5.8/Compress/Zlib.pm line 87.
