Public security bug reported:

Binary package hint: binutils-avr

The build of binutils-avr disables compiler hardening features:
  * Add -Wno-format-security and -U_FORTIFY_SOURCE to CFLAGS, fix FTBFS.        

This is a place-holder bug to make sure this gets fixed in a better way
at some point.
