Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
When using xserver-xorg-video-intel on my Dell Latitude D620, the LCD
back-led will not stay off. No such problem with xserver-xorg-
video-i810.
I test using xset dpms 0 0 1, i.e. LCD sleep after one second. The LCD
will turn off including the LCD's back-led but after two seconds the
LCD's back-led with turn back on again and stay on.
I am using Kubuntu 8.10, but the problem was observed in 7.10 and 8.04,
I worked around by using xserver-xorg-video-i810. I can't successfull
use the "i810" in the xorg.conf of 8.10. So need a fix with the "intel"
driver.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
