This is not the complete fix, it only shows what made it crash, like you wanted to know. 

You cant just change this diff.
Use: "diff -Naur" to diff the entire package or "src" directory.

Basically it was just lacking "&& use_tls" checks like:
if(.... && use_tls )

This check is used in the above file but also:
create_server_settings.c
populate_server_settings.c
apply_server_settings.c

Several people have confirmed that 0.3.5 works including me.

"stableReleaseUpdates"...
Cant you diff the entire package minus one outcommented row then ? :)
