The same thing happens to me in Firefox 3 when I am opening video in new window.
Video plays and I can hear sound but where flash with video should be, it is empty and white.
When I closta that tab and copy/paste adress to new opened tab, it plazs, until another video 
is trying to play.
In Seamonkey 1.1.12 and 1.1.13 closing tab does not stops flash video from playing, sound is heard in 
background, but opening video in new tab does not gives white square, but plays.
I use Xubuntu 8.04.1/Hardy amd64.
Also I use proprietary fglrx driver 8.9 and mow 8.12 , installed from debs.
