Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The only way to get LyX 1.5.7 in -updates is through the stable release
updates[1] process, which is targeted towards fixing only very high-
impact bugs (mainly severe regressions and direct loss of data).

I don't find it likely that this bug will qualify for SRU.

The most important bug fixed by LyX 1.5.7 is the (in)ability to read LyX
1.6 files, which is actually more of a feature than a severe regression
or a direct loss of data. It's also not a simple patch either; LyX 1.5.7
would require packaging, as LyX 1.5.7 has never been packaged in
development releases of Ubuntu or Debian. These packages in turn cannot
be tested in development releases of Ubuntu or Debian that use the LyX
1.6.x series.

Nevertheless, I have changed the status of this bug to incomplete. If
you feel that this bug qualifies for SRU, please feel free to follow the
SRU procedure documented at the wiki page and change the bug status to
new.
