[Bug 310010] [NEW] test: extra argument `!='

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: fish

I get this error every time I log into a session with fish and then
change directories.

Also the path shown in the prompt is blank, though it should be ~.
After changing directories, it prints the error and then the prompt is
correct.  This has only been happening since the Intrepid update as far
as i can tell.

    ~> su - endolith
    Password: 
    Welcome to fish, the friendly interactive shell
    Type help for instructions on how to use fish
    endolith at inspiron > dirh
    /home/endolith  
    endolith at inspiron > cd ~
    test: extra argument `!='
    endolith at inspiron ~> dirh
    /home/endolith  
    endolith at inspiron ~> 

This happens when I login remotely with ssh too.
