Using KDE 4.2 beta 2 on Kubuntu 8.10

Expected Behaviour:
Some ability to change proxy settings with a bash/python/whatever script, or quick console one-liner

It seems the only way to change proxy settings in KDE4 is with the
system settings/network settings gui, which stops any nice easy ways to
swap between proxies for different locations etc.
